When will my order ship?

Each MARÉVA hat is individually hand-finished to order in our Paris studio.

Please allow up to 5 business days for us to carefully craft and prepare your order before shipment. Once your hat is ready to begin its journey, you'll receive a shipping confirmation along with your tracking information.

What are your shipping options and delivery times?

We are pleased to offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all MARÉVA orders.

Because each hat is hand-finished to order and every destination is unique, delivery times vary depending on your location. A personalised delivery estimate for your address will be displayed during checkout before you complete your purchase.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

As each MARÉVA hat is hand-finished to order, we begin preparing your order shortly after it is placed.

If you wish to modify or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible at contact@marevaparis.com. While we cannot guarantee changes once production has begun, we'll always do our best to accommodate your request.

Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?

Orders delivered within the European Union are not subject to customs duties or import fees.

For orders shipped outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes or local handling fees may apply. These charges, where applicable, are the responsibility of the recipient and are determined by your local customs authority.

Do you accept returns?

As each MARÉVA hat is hand-finished to order, we kindly ask that you choose carefully before placing your order.

That said, we understand that exceptional circumstances may arise. If you would like to request a return, please contact us at contact@marevaparis.com within 14 days of receiving your order and we'll be happy to assist.

How do I care for my MARÉVA hat?

Keep the feathers dry and avoid exposing them to rain or excessive humidity.

The hat body may be spot cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Store your hat in its dust bag when packing, and avoid placing heavy objects on top to help preserve its shape.

My feathers look a little flat after shipping. Is this normal?

Yes. As a natural material, ostrich feathers may become lightly compressed during transport or storage.

After unboxing, allow the feathers time to breathe and naturally regain their volume. A light breeze will often help restore their natural movement. If needed, you may also use a hairdryer on a cool or low setting while gently fluffing the feathers with your fingers.

Can I wear my MARÉVA hat at the beach or by the pool?

Absolutely. MARÉVA hats are designed for life's sunniest moments—from poolside afternoons to seaside escapes.

We simply recommend always keeping the feathers dry to preserve their natural beauty.

Can I wear my hat in the rain?

While the hat body is water resistent, the ostrich feathers should be kept dry to preserve their natural softness and volume.

If your hat does become damp, allow it to air dry naturally before gently fluffing the feathers.

Can I steam or iron my hat?

Our natural fibre blend is exceptionally resistent to creasing. We do not recommend steaming or ironing your hat, as excessive heat and moisture may affect the natural fibre blend and the feathers.

If your brim requires reshaping, simply mould it gently by hand.

Can I pack my hat in a suitcase?

Whenever possible, we recommend travelling with your hat on, allowing the feathers to move and breathe naturally.

If you do need to pack it, place it inside the provided dust bag and avoid placing heavy items on top. Once you arrive, remove your hat from your luggage and allow the feathers time to breathe and naturally regain their volume. A gentle fluff by hand or a light breeze will help restore their soft, airy movement.

Why do my feathers have static electricity?

Because ostrich feathers are a natural material, they can occasionally develop static electricity, particularly in dry climates or after being stored or transported.

This is completely normal and temporary. Simply allow the feathers to breathe, gently separate them with your fingers and let them move naturally. A light breeze or a hairdryer on a cool setting can also help restore their soft, airy movement.

To minimise static, avoid prolonged contact with synthetic fabrics whenever possible.

Will the feathers shed?

Like all genuine feathers, occasional shedding is perfectly normal, particularly during the first few wears or after travel.

Each feather is individually secured by hand, and with proper care your MARÉVA hat is designed to accompany you for many summers to come.

What is the fabric composition of my MARÉVA hat?

Our hat body is woven from a proprietary natural fibre blend, carefully selected to combine the beauty of natural texture (paper raffia) with exceptional durability.

To ensure your MARÉVA hat accompanies you through many summers to come, a minority percentage of synthetic fibres is woven into the material. This helps the hat better retain its shape, improve resilience and withstand the demands of travel, while preserving its lightweight feel.

Are the feathers ethically sourced?

Yes. We carefully select suppliers who share our commitment to responsible sourcing and animal welfare.

Our ostrich feathers come from South Africa through a fully traceable supply chain and are sourced from a supplier whose farms and processing facilities are independently audited against recognised animal welfare standards.

Feather harvesting is carried out in accordance with the South African ostrich industry's production requirements, with a strong focus on animal welfare, traceability and sustainability.
